1 ) What inspired you to create Inner Glow Vitamins, and how did your background in dermatology influence the brand’s mission?
Hi Thank you for interviewing me. They say necessity is the mother of invention and in the case of Inner Glow this was very true. When I was seeing patients in Utah, the state that has the highest skin cancer rate in the United States, I saw a lot of patients that were using sunscreen and wearing sun protective clothing but they were frustrated because they kept developing worrisome spots. I began researching and recommending anti-oxidants for these patients to improve their sun protection and realized that there was nothing on the market that had all the necessary ingredients I needed and so I spent a decade researching and developing Inner Glow.
Since supplements are not regulated by the FDA in this country I wanted to create a supplement that would be made to the high standards that I look for as a dermatologist. Inner Glow is made in an FDA registered facility, it’s third party verified, non-GMO and every ingredient in it has been scientifically proven to help with photoaging.
2) Could you elaborate on the formulation of Inner Glow’s Age Defense supplements?
Age Defense is not really a vitamin, it is an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory blend. It has 14 ingredients that work in synergy to help protect us from the sun and reverse old photodamage. There are specialty ingredients like Polypodium Leucotomos, a fern from South America that works like an internal sunscreen and Pycnogenol, a bark from the South of France that plumps our collagen and prevents melasma. In addition, there are powerful antioxidants that you have heard of but may not be able to get in your diet every day like green tea, resveratrol, turmeric, cacao, blueberries and probiotics. These 14 ingredients combined help slow our photoaging, reverse sun damage and protect us from further damage and sunburns.
3) Who are these supplements best suited for, and what benefits can users expect?
The sun is responsible for 80% of our skin aging so the ideal candidate for Age Defense is a patient who is outside a lot for work or enjoyment and is trying to undo old damage or prevent ongoing damage from sun exposure. It is useful for both acute and chronic photoaging.
Patients with a family or personal history of skin cancer, Melasma, sun allergy or those who forget to reapply sunscreen and need an added boost of protection love Age Defense. Immediately,(within an hour) patients will see that it takes them longer to burn but in the long term they will also see improvement in sun induced conditions like melasma or sun spots.
